What do you teach?
Okinawa Shorin-Ryu Karate is the FIRST style of Karate and is considered by many the most complete martial art. Shorin-Ryu Karate is a balanced martial art. It includes blocking, punching, kicking, drills, forms, sport sparring for kids and more practical and realistic self-defense for teens and adults.
What is you philosophy on teaching?
We teach our students to be kind, moral and to think of others even if they have to defend themselves. We do not teach little ones Mixed Martial Arts/Brazilian Jui-Jitsu techniques as their growing bodies are not ready for impact and dangers of throwing, choking or joint locks. Our classes are age appropriate and children are taught as such. Our students are taught to use their minds before their fists and to walk away from a fight if possible.
What separates you from other martial arts schools?
We are ONE studio with our students in mind. We are a 16 year proven local business with a local phone number. We do not use a 1-800 number that transfers you to a professional salesman somewhere in California. We do not use a corporate management groups to help us with sales gimmicks, professionally designed advertising strategies and so on. We leave the slick stuff to our competition as our focus is on quality not quantity.
